Heward Microjets Limited is a company based in Cambridge whose primary business is the design and manufacture of gas turbine engines.
We are currently producing four engines: the Wasp 1&2 H20, Cirrus H65, the Nimbus H80 as well as the Stratus H200.
These engines have many applications, both conventional and unorthodox, be it for land based-vehicles, aircraft ranging from models to UAVs and manned ultralights and gliders, turboshaft units for power generation, helicopters and turboprops and the list goes on.
The combustion chambers installed in our engines contain a type of burner not used before in miniature turbine engines. they are more familliar in the full size world in such engines as the RB199 fitted in the RAF Torando, and Rolls Royce Olympus 593 as was used in Concord. These help to give the best possible fuel efficiency, ease of starting and fastest acceleration from idle to max RPM. All the materials used in our engines are to the highest grade, machined to the finest tolerances giving outstanding longevity, reliability and performance.
Besides manufacturing engines to our own designs, we also provide design consultation services on new or experimental engine projects. We also build engines tailored to specific needs and uses.
Our other services include a high quality TIG welding and machining (turning and milling), as well as the supplying of parts and inconel/ stainless castings to order.
If you have any queries on any of our products or services, please do not hesitate to write to us at info@heward-microjets.co.uk and we shall be happy to respond to you as soon as we can.
